Congratulations to the City of Pueblo for securing $13.7 million in federal funds through IIJA to replace the nearly century-old Union Avenue Bridge, a vital connection between downtown and south Pueblo.
With $1.75 million in matching funds from Colorado’s Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), this project will enhance safety, support new pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and pave the way for future passenger rail.
"This new-and-improved bridge delivers for Pueblo’s future, improves safety, and makes it easier for people and products to get where they need to go," said Gov. Jared Polis. "We’re proud to have worked with local partners and leaders to get this funding to make Pueblo more connected for everyone who lives, works, and travels in the area."
