The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund is a financial assistance program to help water systems and states achieve the health protection objectives of the Safe Drinking Water Act. As per EPA, forty-nine percent (49%) of this funding must be provided to disadvantaged communities as grants or principal forgiveness loans which can provide a pathway for underserved communities that might not otherwise have access to funding for water infrastructure upgrades.
