The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s (CDPHE’s) Solid Waste and Materials Management Program (the Solid Waste Program) will use these funds to update the 2016 Colorado Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (ISMWP), which will include the development of guidance for recycling and disposal of waste streams generated from renewable energy sources (solar, wind) and electric vehicle batteries, recommendations on improving waste diversion data collection, and an overview of improvements to Colorado’s disaster debris management efforts. The updated Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan will include a review of all recycling programs across the state with the goal of providing recycling services to all communities including disadvantaged communities and disproportionately impacted communities.
