Sowing Seeds for Success: Developing Diversity and Leadership for Careers in Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources: $4,600,000

Adams State University’s goal with Sowing the Seeds is to increase the tangible engagement of its diverse partners and students in the development of the next generation workforce for the food, agriculture, and natural resources (FAN) entities in the region. As the first Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) in Colorado, Adams State University is well matched to meet the expectations of the grant to increase opportunities for disadvantaged participants to actively engage with the FAN industries. Through this endeavor, students will have access to scholarship support and mentorships to engage with work-based learning experiences in the FAN industries while they pursue their degrees. In the San Luis Valley’s diverse community, students will work with others of similar backgrounds at all levels of the workforce which is designed to support students in realizing their vision of career engagement in the FAN industries.
