Funding Opportunities

The Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) created and maintains the Local Community Funding Guide to provide a comprehensive resource to help local governments and nonprofit community organizations navigate the funding sources available through a variety of Federal and State programs.

IIJA and IRA Office Hours

If you represent a Colorado local government or Tribe and you have specific questions, please join our monthly office hours on the third Thursday of each month from 2:00pm-3:00pm to ask your questions.

Local Government Coordination Call and Pathways Webinar Series

DOLA hosts a monthly Local Government Coordination Call. Topics vary based on current events, but often include updates on IIJA and IRA. DOLA’s Pathways to Recovery & Resiliency Funding Webinar Series runs within the Local Government Coordination call and is designed to offer upcoming funding opportunities based on a category. You can view the topics of Pathways Webinars. Sign up to join DOLA's monthly call and Pathways Webinars on the third Wednesday every month.

Regional Grant Navigators

Fourteen Regional Grant Navigators are available to help local governments and tribes identify and apply for IIJA and IRA grants. Learn more about the Regional Grant Navigators.

Local Matching Funds for IIJA (LOMA)

DOLA is managing a grant program to provide local matching funds or Colorado counties, municipalities, special districts, and federally recognized tribes who have or intend to apply for a federal IIJA program that requires a non-federal match.

Grant Writing and Technical Assistance Support

Grant writing and project planning technical assistance is available to local governments, Tribes, school districts and housing authorities for priority IIJA and IRA projects.

Water Projects

The Department of Natural Resources is offering grants to assist with capacity and resources in pursuit of federal funding opportunities that directly support the Colorado Water Plan objectives. Learn more about this program.

Transportation Projects

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is coordinating through the Transportation Planning Organizations to help local governments submit applications for projects to advance their regional transportation plans. CDOT regional staff meet regularly with local agencies across the state to collaborate on planning and funding projects.

Broadband Projects

The Colorado Broadband Office is offering the Broadband Technical Assistance Program to help Colorado communities participate in upcoming federal grant programs. Through this program, eligible entities qualify for support and services they will need to pursue broadband grant opportunities. In addition, the Broadband Ready Community Program was created to certify broadband-ready communities and deem them on the right track and properly prepared to connect residents to high-speed, reliable internet.

Energy Improvements for Agricultural Producers and Rural Small Businesses

Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) is providing technical assistance to producers interested in USDA REAP grants for energy efficiency and renewable energy.
