The Abandoned Mine Land (AML) Reclamation Program addresses the hazards and environmental degradation posed by legacy coal mines. Through reclamation, this land can find a new purpose. Approximately 40% of the proposed projects for FY22 and FY23 are located in CEJST disadvantaged communities. The program is also comparing its existing abandoned mine land (AML) inventory with disadvantaged community boundaries in an effort to factor this information into future project selection.
